Introduction | Task | The Process | Evaluation | Conclusion

The city of Atlanta has decided to build a new museum. This museum will be built to honor people who have made significant contributions to America. The museum's Board of Directors has already decided on most of the people who will be showcased. However, there is enough space to showcase one more person. Your job is to decide who should be showcased and convince the Board to approve your choice. You will present your recommendation and the Board will vote on the most deserving nominee.
Your job is to examine the lives and personalities of admirable people in a variety of fields. You will research the lives of 3 people from 3 of the fields listed below using the links provided. You will complete the following worksheet as you research.
You will then decide on the one person you think is most deserving. You will create a PowerPoint presentation (about 3 -4 slides) to the Board of Directors. Be sure to get approval from the curator (teacher), so we can avoid duplication.
Be prepared to defend your decision with specific examples from the life of the person you have chosen.

Think about this: What makes someone great? First: Read about THREE people in THREE different fields. You may use books and magazines as well as the Internet links provided. It will be extremely important that you learn as much as you can about what influenced these people and caused them to become great. Take notes on each individual so that you have some facts to refer to later. Second: Develop your PowerPoint presentation and plan how you will convince the Board of Directors to choose your person.
