TEACHER SPOTLIGHT OF THE WEEK

Linda Retter

Where were you born? and/or grow up? Dayton, Ohio until I was a junior in high school, my family then moved to Gwinnett County were I have lived for 24 years.

Why did you pick teaching as your career?  I had some great teachers who were very good role models.

What is your favorite part of teaching? Working with the students.

What were your hobbies as an adolescent? Any kind of sport.

During your middle school years, what grade level did you enjoy the most and why? Seventh grade was my favorite grade level because I had some really fun teachers.

What other places have you taught? Summerour Middle, Pinckneyville Middle, and Five Forks Middle Schools

What is your favorite college memory and what college did you go to? As an undergraduate I went to Georgia State. I'm currently  working on my Masters degree at UGA.

How many years have you been a teacher? 15 years.

What was your favorite subject in school? Social Studies and Physical Education.

What is your degree in? Middle Childhood Education

What are some of your hobbies? Playing gold, scuba diving, hiking and backpacking, all water sports, softball, working in my yard, reading, and many others.
