URL stands for Universal Resource Locator. It is the address of a computer that contains Internet pages or other internet data. Each page on the Internet has a specific address (URL). Most resemble the following format: http://www.atlantabraves.com or http://www.disney.org . The last three characters identify whether the pages are a part of a commercial (com), education (edu), organization (org), government (gov), or network (net) site.

WWW stands for World Wide Web. This part of the web can displays pictures, sound, text, movies and even play games. It's this part of the Internet which has attracted so many different users the past few years.

HTML stands for HyperText Markup Language. This is the computer language all computers use to create Internet (WWW) pages. It is similar to computer languages like BASIC or C+ . HTML is the language used to display this page you are currently reading.

HTTP stands for HyperText Transfer Protocol. This is the method or protocol that the Internet uses to send pages to other computers. Without this protocol, pages could not travel from one computer to another.
