Telecommunications is the category
that the Internet falls under. "Tele" is the sending and
receiving of information over a long distances. Communication over
great distances is part of what makes the Internet so appealing. It certainly
shrinks the size of the world. The "Tele"vision and the "Tele"phone
have changed the world just like the Internet is poised to do.
