A browser is a software
program written specifically to enable users to easily navigate the
Internet. Before browsers, users had to choose from menus or type
a variety of commands
to search the Internet. With the invention of browsers came the
use of hypertext links. These colorful links made surfing the Internet
very easy.
Today the most popular browser is Internet
Explorerwith approximately 51% of all users using some version of Microsoft's
browser. The remaining users use Mozilla Firefox, Safari, or Google's
Chrome to
surf the Internet.
